Columbia University and the Iranian president

From my view, as an academic and journalist, the decision by Columbia University to host the Iranian president was a brave one, to be applauded. However, the welcome given to him by the university’s president, Lee Bollinger, was a disgrace. I’m no fan of the Iranian regime, but Bollinger’s ambush smacks of a set-up and diminishes that institution’s standing. It was childish. As for Ahmadinejad’s reply … as one letter writer said: “it just proves both countries elected an idiot for a leader”.

  1. Columbia University claims they are America’s best and brightest?

Did you see the way they applauded Ahmadenijad?

They are just a bunch of filthy Little Eichmanns.

Too bad that Cho Seung-hui didn’t go to Columbia University!

  2. -Don’t risk yourself like the student who got kicked out by starting a facebook page on his school – there is a site for that – you can post anonymously or with nickname – it works!
