I spent 17 years in daily newspapers in Australia, New Zealand and South Africa. Publications I worked for included The Australian, Daily Telegraph, The Sun (Sydney and Brisbane), The West Australian and Evening Post (Port Elizabeth, South Africa).
I have more than 10 years experience in PR, working as Information Manager for the Olympic Coordination Authority, Head of Air Force PR (Air Command), Communications Manager for Surf Life Saving Australia and was on the Board of Directors of Surf Life Saving NZ. I also spent 20 years in the Regular Army and Army Reserve as a PR Officer, with active service in East Timor.
Spare time: Winning world and Australian titles in surf life saving (swimming and iron man). I still compete in Masters events and am the current Australian over-50 surf race champion. Married 28 years with three adult children.
